What Buna TV does, what you need, and how to install and update it.
Welcome to Buna TV#
Buna TV is a player for live TV, films and series, built for the big screen. It's made for Android TV and Google TV. Everything in it works from a standard TV remote.
What you can do#
Live TV
Fast channel changes, a quick guide over the picture, and a full programme guide.
Catch-up
Watch programmes that have already aired, or restart the one on now, where your service allows it.
Recording
Record now, schedule from the guide, or record every showing of a programme.
Multi-view
Watch up to four channels at once and choose which one you hear.
Movies and series
Browse your service's films and shows, carry on where you stopped, and keep a list.
Your way
Favourites, custom groups, hidden and renamed channels, a PIN lock and remote buttons you set yourself.
What you need#
- An Android TV or Google TV device with Android 7.0 or later.
- An internet connection.
- The details your TV service sent you: a playlist link, a playlist file, or a server address with a username and password.
Installing the app#
From the store#
Search for Buna TV in the Google Play Store on your TV, then choose Install. When it finishes, Buna TV appears in your TV's app row.
Updating#
Google Play updates Buna TV automatically. Don't uninstall to update: your playlists, favourites and settings are kept when you update and lost when you uninstall.
Privacy#
- No ads, no analytics, and no account to create.
- Your playlists, logins and viewing history stay on your device.
- Buna TV only connects to the TV services and network shares you add yourself.
- Crash details are kept on your device and shown to you; nothing is uploaded.
- Backups are encrypted and saved only where you choose.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
