Adding a playlist
Add your TV service with an Xtream Codes login, an M3U link or a playlist file.
The first time you open Buna TV it has no channels. Add your service under Settings › Playlists › Manage playlists › Add playlist. If you're on a fresh install, the Playlists screen offers Add playlist straight away.
Choose the Source that matches what your service gave you:
| Source | What to enter | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Xtream Codes | Server address, username, password | Live channels, films, series and the TV guide from one login |
| M3U link | The M3U or M3U8 web address your service sent | Channels, plus the TV guide if the playlist names one |
| File | An .m3u or .m3u8 file on the TV or a USB stick | Channels |
Adding an Xtream Codes account#
- Choose Xtream Codes as the source.
- Enter the Server address exactly as your service gave it, including the port if there is one, for example
http://example.com:8080. - Enter your Username and Password. Choose Show to check what you typed.
- Optionally give it a Name; this is how it appears in your list of playlists.
- Choose Connect. Buna TV checks the details with your service, then starts loading channels.
Adding an M3U link or file#
- Choose M3U link and paste or type the playlist address, or choose File and then Browse for a file….
- The TV guide is found automatically if the playlist names one. If your service gave you a separate guide address (XMLTV, compressed
.gzworks too), open More options and enter it under TV guide. - Choose Save.
More options#
All optional; the defaults suit most services.
| TV guide | Use the guide from the playlist or provider, enter a custom guide address, or have none. |
| Update automatically | How often this playlist is refreshed, or use the app default. |
| Merge matching groups | Shows one "Sports" group across all your playlists instead of one per playlist. |
| User agent | Only if your service asks you to set one. |
Checking a playlist is working#
Open Settings › Playlists › Manage playlists and select a playlist. Its status shows whether the channels and guide loaded, when they were last updated, and, for Xtream accounts, when your subscription expires. You'll see a warning as the expiry date gets close.
From the playlist list you can also Refresh now, Edit, switch a playlist off without deleting it (Enabled), change the order with Move up and Move down, or Delete it.
If adding fails#
| Message | What to try |
|---|---|
| Couldn't sign in | The service didn't accept the username and password. Check them, including capital letters. |
| Couldn't reach the provider | Check the server address and port, and that the TV is online. |
| That isn't a playlist | The link opened something other than a playlist. It may have expired; ask your service for a new one. |
| This box isn't online | Check the TV's Wi-Fi or network cable. |
